Britam Tower by GAPP Architects and Triad Architects recently completed in Nairobi, Kenya, was the first skyscraper in Africa to feature in the top ten Emporis Skyscraper Award’s list. It made its way to the tenth position among other outstanding skyscrapers in the world, Britam Tower placed Africa, for the first time, on the prestigious award’s top ten list.
Britam Tower stands 656 ft. and 32 floors above the ground in Upper Hill Nairobi. The compelling tower made its appearance on the list for its prismatic shape, fascinating facades and its functional design. Its form offers a variety of shapes and sizes to the floors with eye-catching views of the city. Britam Tower exceptionally relates with its environment by respecting the science of sustainability and energy efficiency. Its innovative engineering and well-considered geometry puts it at the world’s spheres of marvelously crafted skyscrapers.

Emporis is a leading database of information about building and construction projects, based in Germany. The Emporis Skyscraper Award is the world’s most renowned prize for high-rise architecture. Determined by a jury of architecture experts from all over the world, the nominated buildings are judged based on their achievements in functions and aesthetics.
Announcing the awards in December 2018, Emporis stated that Britam Tower is the first skyscraper in Africa to feature among the winners in its history.
