The construction had a tight timelines of 8 weeks. We are proud these timelines were met through weekly supervisions and regular inspections. Construction began in April 2015 and the site was handed over in June 2015. The final produce was an ultra modern, high standard Barclays Business School. The Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) tasked Triad Architects with the brief to design an office building to serve as their Africa Head-quarters as well as grow their cashflow, through leasing of space to sister organizations and the general public. AEA Plaza provides 650 square meters of lettable area on each of its 10 floors. The Floors are characterized by picturesque views of the Nairobi City below. Moreover, the building stands alone in the premises, free from surrounding buildings, shadows, or obstacles. This gives the building an advantage of enjoying natural lighting and ventilation. Completed in 2019, it provides 100 outdoor car parking slots, a backup generator, firefighting systems, rainwater & council water storage tanks and 2No. modern lifts that are automatically linked to the fire evacuation system. The building takes advantage of its natural site, with the floor to ceiling curtain walling windows creating a subtle transition from the outside to the inside on the lower floors making users one with nature. The clients required a modern commercial development that responds to the site and the neighbourhood while maximize lettable area incorporating modern facilities. They further required adequate parking area incorporating disabled mobility, creative landscaping, and efficient disaster management facilities. The building also needed to incorporate Energy efficient technology. The resultant building is an iconic 11,500sqm office block with 80% of gross area being lettable area, uniquely positioned on site to mitigate solar gains. The office block has a basement parking level with additional parking on ground and mezzanine floors accommodating 194 cars. Practical Completion was achieved in March 2019. The office block has attracted tenants that include Lloyd Masika Ltd., Stanbic Bank, Raiser Resource Group & Techno Mobile among others. The development is ringed in the Cargo Section for security purposes. The development will have the following facilities: IMPORT WAREHOUSE.

  • Large enough to accommodate cargo for 2 No. Boeing 747 planes. Each plane can take 40 pallets thus a total accommodation of 80 pallets (total of racked and full pallet storage).
EXPORT WAREHOUSE.
  • To house storage for Transit Pallets and goods. Transit pallets / goods will come in from the import warehouse side.
  • Banking hall, Dangerous Goods Area (DGR), perishables section, special goods/equipment external storage area
OFFICES.
  • Siginon offices for 30 staff (includes those in warehouses). This will include the facility manager’s office and offices for support staff.
  • Server room, offices for 4 main airlines each with 10 staff and 5 smaller airlines with a maximum of 5 staff each.
  • Small banking premises with a separate wings for general public and for clearing agents / customers.
