This exciting project entailed the design of the TV Rwanda building in Kigali dubbed TVR building. With the need to improve the broadcast capacity in Rwanda, the new TVR building is designedto portray this modernisation, both in terms of architectural symbolism and equipment.
The building is sleek in design, vibrant, made of planes and juxtaposes with primary shapes. It brings TVR in line with international standards of studio design and at the same time gives Kigali city a new international urban identity.
Environmental considerations have been factored in the design and functions arranged with spaces that require a lot of heavy TV services at the bottom and less serviced spaces at higher levels. The ground floor is designed to have a customer service unit where advertising and other related issues will be dealt with.
The tower accommodates smaller technical rooms such as small studio rooms, editing rooms and the editor’s offices. The senior administrators are accommodated on the top most floors.
This design provides Triad with an exciting opportunity to deliver on functionality, excitement and aesthetics that come naturally with a TV station.
